How to apply?

1. Complete the Online Application Form

The online application form is available at https://britishlawcentre.co.uk/courses or by clicking here. Scroll to the bottom of the page, click the blue button to indicate if you are an existing full-time student (this includes postgraduate students) or a non-student, and then click on the pink ‘Application Form’ button. You must first Register on the website before you can complete the application form. You will need to attach a recent passport-sized photo to your application form. If you have any difficulties with the registration process, please contact us using the contact form, or by sending us a Facebook IM. The registration process should take approximately 10 minutes.

Please note that completing the online application form does not mean that you have been accepted to the course and it does not legally oblige you to do so. We will contact you regarding your application once you have registered, to confirm that you wish to study at the BLC.

A note on BLC course fees.

Please note that the fees information on the application page indicates the fees for the full 2-years of the course, not a yearly fee. You only need to pay half of this amount when you begin Year One and the other half when you begin Year Two. Moreover, you may split each annual fee into 2 instalments if you wish (please contact us for details). We are required by EU law to show you the total amount of the 2-year course (which also confirms that there will not be any fee increases as you progress to Year Two), but of course you are entitled to withdraw from the course at the end of Year One, in which case you would not be liable to pay the fees for Year Two. We are confident, however, that you will not wish to do so!

2. Submit the Application Form

Don’t forget to fill in all the required fields and upload a profile picture before submitting the application form. You should also remember to download and read the Course Regulations.

3. Send us your further application documents

As part of the application process, we require you to send us a recent (English language) CV and a motivation letter (explaining your own reasons for wishing to study at the BLC). You will receive instructions about this once you register your online application form. We use these documents to decide whether to formally offer you a place at the BLC. We may ask you to attend an interview if we have any doubts about your application documents.

4. Receive our response to your application

Once you submit your application, we will contact you with a decision regarding your place on the Diploma Course. You will then have 14 days to consider if you wish to withdraw from the course, in accordance with the BLC Cancellation Policy. Please do not worry about the formality of these policies – we are required by EU law to have them, but we obviously don’t try to force people to attend the course if they decide (after registration) that they do not wish to attend the course at all. So you need not worry about applying early and then changing your mind before the course starts – we won’t be trying to chase you through the courts to force you to attend or make you pay for a course you never attended!

5. Pay your course fees

The BLC Diploma is  fee-paying course and if you decide to become a student you agree to pay the course fees for the year which you are joining (i.e. Year One or Year Two). Please note that fees are payable to both of the 2 institutions which organise the Diploma course.

The fees for the 2017-2019 Diploma course are as follows:

Organiser Fees per year
  Full-time students* Non-students
Juris Angliae Scientia €575 €775
UW WPiA 840 PLN 1020 PLN
Instalments: It is possible to split each of the annual fees into 2 equal instalments. Instalment 1 is payable before the course begins. Instalment 2 is payable in February of the following calendar year.

* As regards the JAS fees, student status include anyone who is registered as a full-time student at any Higher Education institution within the EU (inc. Ph.D students, but not including those registered on vocational courses such as aplikacka). As regards the UW WPiA fees it applies only to students of WPiA UW (also including Ph.D students). So, for example, a full-time student of a University other than UW WPiA would pay the “student” level of JAS fees but the “non-student” for UW fees.
